German Pappenheimer Rapier, 17th century

This so-called Pappenheimer sword is characterized by a basket-shaped guard that protects the hand. It takes its name from Gottfried Heinrich zu Pappenheim, a field marshal of the 30-years-war. His famous regiment was especially fond of this type of rapier.

Delivery includes the wooden scabbard with leather wrapping and steel fittings shown in the picture.
