Galea Junior, Roman Legionary Helmet for Children, Steel and Brass
This Roman soldier's helmet (also called galea or cassis) is a simplified and downsized reproduction of an Imperial Gallic helmet from the 1st / 2nd century AD. Typical features for this particular kind of helmet were (among others) the distinctive eyebrows, the frontal reinforcement and the decorative circular brass bosses/rosettes. True Roman troopers never left the camp without their helmets. Just like the armour (lorica), the shield (scutum) and the short sword (gladius), the helmet was an essential piece of any brave legionary's attire.
This Roman helmet for little legionaries is crafted from steel and adorned with brass fittings. It features hinged cheek pieces, an adjustable liner made of faux leather and a leather chin strap with buckle.
With this galea, your child will be perfectly equipped to defend his/her own private castrum. And just like that, every Roman camp, costume party or playground can become a stage for heroic deeds.
Details:
- Material: steel with brass fittings, faux leather lining, leather chin strap
- Suitable for head circumference up to approx. 57 cm
- Long distance (back to front): approx. 20 cm
- Short distance (ear to ear): approx. 16 cm
- Height (without cheek guards): approx. 12 cm
- Weight: approx. 1.1 kg
Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.
