Whether as robe jewellery or simply as a pendant on a chain, this bronze piece of jewellery in the form of a trefoil in the Borre style is certainly eye catching.

The Borre style followed the Oseberg style in the 9th century and lasted until the middle of the 10th century. The early medieval Borre (or griffin) style is named after the Norwegian town of Borre. Animal and knot ornaments were the hallmarks of this style, which was later replaced by the Jelling style.
