Shoes Thor, brown

A viking style buskin, whose pattern is modeled after a finding from Haithabu. The upper leather part is made from one piece, with a seam along the dorsum of the foot. Typically for viking shoes, the sole is raised up at the heel and phases out in a triangular shape. For high stability and durability the sole got glued and nailed circumferentially. Above the ankles, the shoe is closed with two tabs and toggles, underneath runs a lace, which can be knoted.

The upper leather part is approx. 2.5 mm thick, the leather outsole approx. 7 mm. The sole is fixed by high stable nails.

Please note:
The robustness of shoes according to historical patterns may not meet the modern requirements! They are quite sensitive to asphalt, concrete stones and gravel. These floor coverings did not exist in the Middle Ages! We therefore recommend wearing pattens (medieval wooden overshoes), insoles or to retrofit them with rubbersoles at the shoemaker of your choice.
