Great Helmet, William de Staunton, 1326 AD, 1.6 mm steel
- Battle-Ready -
This helmet is a reconstruction of an image on a stone relief depicting William of Staunton, dated 1326 and displayed in Staunton church, Norfolkshire, England.
The "Great Helmet" was often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (for example a secret helmet). Such helmets were common throughout Europe in the Middle Ages, and numerous contemporary images, miniatures and originals found in Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Swizerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this helmet type. They were used during the famous battles of Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356).
Delivery includes a comfortable leather inlay.

- Short distance (ear to ear): approx. 19.5 cm
