Folder Kershaw Launch 9
This is the Launch 9. And while it may look like a smaller version of Kershaw's best-selling Launch 2, the Launch 9 has its own special appeal. Its compact size makes it easy to carry, and it offers a refined look.
The Launch 9's drop-point blade is CPM 154 with a "working" finish which is somewhat rougher than stonewashed and meant to easily hide the scuffs and scratches that a working knife earns on the job. The CPM 154 powdered metallurgy blade steel takes and holds an excellent edge, provides corrosion resistance, wear resistance and toughness.
Like the rest of the Launch series, the Launch 9's handle is anodized aluminum. In this case, it's anodized in basic matte black for everyday good looks. A push-button on the handle opens the knife quickly. Push the button again to release the blade to fold it back into the handle. The button's low profile makes it harder for the blade to accidentally deploy.
The Launch 9 features an integrated backspacer with a lanyard hole (perfect for a paracord attachment) and a reversible pocket clip.

At international level, legal provisions pertaining to the purchase, possession, use, carrying and transportation of switchblade knives are not uniform and widely differ depending on individual state legislation.
In Germany these knives are classified as illegal weapons, with the exception of side-opening switchblade knives with a single-edged blade which does not exceed 8.5 cm in length. Nevertheless, the switchblade knives which meet all above-mentioned conditions (and are thus legal) still remain classified as weapons under the German law on weapons (Waffengesetzes, short WaffG). Under these terms, the required minimum age for the purchase, possession and use of such knives is fixed at 18 years old. Additionally, the legal carrying/transportation of such knives in public places is also subject to specific conditions (§ 42a of the WaffG).
Due to the many and varied laws that govern the switchblade knives' purchase, possession, use and carrying/transportation, please make sure to seek proper advice from the competent authority in your country in order to comply with all local and state regulations.
