Lovely cotton corsage. It fits well, as it is laced at the front and at the back. There is a fine cotton lining.
Originally the corsage was an undergarment which evolved from the doublet. At first it had sleeves, then around the middle of the 18th century, the corsage lost it's sleeves and was shortened to just above the hips.
