Product information "1867 Birmingham EIG Dragoon Percussion Pistol"
1867 Birmingham EIG Dragoon Percussion Pistol
The percussion lock was - after matchlocks, wheel locks and flintlocks – the last stage of development of muzzleloader locks, before they were replaced by breech-loading weapons in the 2nd half of the 19 Century.
The amazing pistol has been manufactured in Birmingham by the British East Indian Company (E.I.G = East Indian Government) that controlled trade from the Strait of Magellan to the Cape of Good Hope.
This beautiful replica is nearly a perfect reproduction of its master: Barrel, lock, trigger and hammer in the white, trigger guard, butt and ramrod keeper in brass. The pistol is complete with capture rod and lanyard ring. The trigger maintains a strong pull.
Our firearm replicas are intended for decoration or re-enactment. The muzzles have not been drilled, so the weapon is not functional.
A beautiful item for every collection and an indispensable accessory for re-enactors.
Details:
- Total length: approx. 36 cm
- Weight: approx. 1.15 kg
- Barrel length: approx. 20.5 cm
